Leeds, Utah
Leeds Utah is located 19 miles north of St. George along Interstate 15. It is a quiet community with many hills. It has a few small shops for residents and visitors. Leeds was part of the cotton industry back during the Civil War.
Silver Reef (formerly a silver mining town) is positioned just west of Leeds. The mine is no longer producing and hasn't been for decades. There are also many historic buildings in town. In addition, there are great views in most every direction; from some parts of town you can see Zion Canyon. If you follow the road out of Silver Reef up Pine Valley mountain you'll find Oak Grove; a quiet, peaceful campground with trails heading up to the peaks of Pine Valley Mountain. Silver Reef was the place where Rising Star, from the motion picture starring Robert Redford "Electric Horseman", was released. Silver Reef is steeped in history.
